The 2010 Volvo edition offers a perfect combination of powerful performance with stylish looks and innovative safety features at an affordable price. The 2010 Volvo XC60 is a new crossover sport-utility that seats five passengers. The new XC60 represents a slightly smaller addition to the existing stable of XC70 and XC90 crossover SUVs. The XC60’s combination of understated style, family-orientated design and safety credentials that are a match for any car on the market ensure it’s different. Different and, for family buyers at least, better.

The XC60 provides a new styling and design direction for upcoming Volvo vehicles. It includes a glass roof and a newly styled grille, with a much larger Volvo symbol, new shifting mechanism, mechanical tail gate, and 20 inch rims. The XC60 isn’t especially roomy, but with the back seats folded it’s a good load-bearer and the decor is striking. The seats have contrasting colour sections and upstretched arms, and the usual Volvo “floating”‘ centre console is even more ethereally attached than usual.

The 2010 Volvo XC60, however, is slightly larger than the LR2 and comparable in size to the BMW X3. It’ss taller, but not as long, as Volvo’s SUV-wannabe station wagon, the XC70, and markedly smaller than Volvo’s current best-selling model, the seven-passenger XC90 midsize SUV. The XC60 R-Design gets a sporty setup, with a new body kit and a lowered sports chassis. The car gets standard 18-inch Cratus aluminum wheels, but buyers also have the option to upgrade these to 20-inches.

The XC60 scans the foreground of the vehicle for any obstacles and below certain speeds will apply the brakes without the driver’s intervention. The great thing about this system is that it comes as standard. The XC60 is available in both AWD and FWD, with either a 3.2L inline 6 or 3.0L turbo-charged inline 6 (T6). The 2010 XC60 3.2 comes to market with class-leading fuel economy of 27 mpg highway and 18 mpg city. The XC60 has a knack for making the most of the power on tap and once the turbo kicks in, there is impressive midrange punch. Volvo says the big SUV will hurry to 100km/h from rest in just more than 10 seconds โ€“ and that sounds about right.

The 2010 Volvo XC60 takes safety to a new level. Volvo has used the latest technological findings in materials and features-including impact, stabilization and support systems. The XC60 is no exception and is the first vehicle from Volvo that comes with their City Safety technology. Using a laser mounted at the top of the windshield, City Safety can help the driver avoid frontal collisions at low speed.

The 2010 Volvo XC60 is stuffed with a long list of standard features. Along with leather trim, the XC60 has standard Bluetooth connectivity, HD Radio, Sirius Satellite Radio with six months’ service, USB and auxiliary inputs for audio players, a large moonroof, roof rails, and power front seats.

The 2010 Volvo XC60 price starts at MSRP: $32,395 โ€“ $37,200 is one of the best driving entries that can be seen in the luxury crossover segment.
