The New Ford Taurus 2010 has been completely redesigned to give it a pretty good shot on. This car is renewed inside and out, with a crisp new look, a fresh cabin copper mustang, bold and turbocharged power. Ford Taurus is the attempt to put back on track after a mismanagement of its most important names. The disintegration of the original design Ford Taurus won millions of new buyers in the 1980s and was America’s best-selling car in either the 1990s. But its popularity waned under face-lifts ugly, excessive, and a remake of 2005 as the large, dry Ford five hundred, the recovery started in 2008 when that car called the Ford Taurus model culminates in the renovated 2010. Should you wait for 2010 or buy the 2009 Ford Taurus? Despite the dramatic restyled, the 2010 model still keeps the 2009 Taurus’s basic engineering and interior dimensions.

The 2010 Ford Taurus  is clearly heads and tails better than the car it replaced, but the Taurus today competes in a totally different segment than the 1986. Taurus today is a great car that competes with other big front-, rear- and all-wheel-drive sedans, cars like the Toyota Avalon, Nissan Maxima, Chrysler 300 and Pontiac G8. In the case of Ford had not noticed, this is not a high-volume segment. Although the new Taurus alone can not put Ford from the edge as the first did, it represents the best of what Ford has to offer in a passenger vehicle. And here is the best news of 2010 Taurus have the same base price of $ 25,995 as a 2009 model. That’s a good move by Ford for what appears to be a very good car.

The 2010 Ford Taurus  comes standard with Ford’s proven Duratec 3.5-liter V-6, generating 263 horsepower and 249 foot-pounds of torque. This award-winning engine earns a ULEV-II emissions certification and comes paired with a choice of two new six-speed automatic transmissions. The smooth and refined Duratec V-6 helps the front-wheel-drive Ford Taurus deliver unsurpassed highway fuel economy. Taurus reflects Ford’s commitment to deliver the best, or be among the leaders, in fuel economy across the vehicle segments where it competes.

The new Taurus is front-wheel drive, with an all-wheel-drive option. A six-speed automatic is the sole gearbox offered; SEL and Limited versions have paddle shifters and a manual shift mode. Compared to the outgoing model, the chassis components under the 2010 Taurus should deliver sportier ride dynamics. Ford engineers promise more roll stiffness and more responsive steering. Like the MKS, the new Ford uses struts up front and multi-link, fully-independent arrangement in the rear.

The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO will be equipped with the most powerful “EcoBoost” V-6 Ford. The 3.5-liter V-6 gets twin turbochargers to produce 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque—almost as much as a V-8 Hyundai Genesis. Direct injection and staged turbocharging give it flexible power from 1500 to 5500 rpm, Ford says. All-wheel drive and the paddle-shifted six-speed automatic are the only drive-train available. Electric power steering is standard; it remains to be seen whether Ford’s tuning will give the Taurus SHO good road feel. The SHO suspension is tuned for handling, with stiffer shocks and springs, thicker anti-roll bars and new suspension mounts. Ford will also offer a Performance Package with tougher brake-pad material and re-tuned stability control, along with 20-inch wheels and tires.

Even though this new Ford car is a full-size car, the amount of passenger room is still surprising. The adjective “huge” comes to mind. In front the Taurus has great room for tall drivers, and great space in back for six-foot passengers and their knees. This is a large sedan that seems even larger once you open the rear doors, a rarity in the class. The biggest progress in the new Ford Taurus 2010 is in the quality feel of the interior. The previous edition sported much of the interior space and offered high chairs with good visibility, but had plastics that catered to rental-fleet aesthetics. The surfaces are tighter grained and more attractive in this new model, and impressively finished.

For the safety, the new Ford Taurus 2010 is well equipped with standards including six airbags; anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control; automatic high beams; and rain-sensing wipers.Ford offers a collision warning system and adaptive cruise control on the new sedan, as well as Blind Spot Information and Cross Traffic Alert systems; these use rear- and side-aiming radar to alert drivers to impending disaster. Additionally, Ford’s SYNC now includes a 911 Assist enhancement that will place a call to a local emergency operator in the event of an air bag deployment incident. The Taurus SHO also offers an optional rear view camera. The 2010 Ford Taurus also boasts a stronger body structure that makes use of high-strength boron steel. If the crash results of the 2009 Lincoln MKS are any indication, this sedan should earn full five-star ratings and a “good” rating from the IIHS.

This new Ford car is also loaded with a number of high-tech features to enhance your safety and capability on the road. A great feature to use on all your road trips or long distance travelling is the adaptive cruise control, which responds to the changing speeds of traffic ahead of your vehicle so that you don’t constantly have to readjust your cruising speed and also warns you before a potential collision occurs.

Another handy feature is the blind spot information system (blis) with cross traffic alert so you’ll never have to be scared of a close call when you change lanes. Also, you’ll love the entertainment compatibility of Ford’s patented sync technology, which allows for complete bluetooth and mp3 compatibility as well as voice-activated navigation with sirius travel link. If you’re looking for the best up-and-coming vehicles available on the market, then look no further than the new, fully redesigned. In the words of Ford’s CEO Alan Mulally, the New Ford Taurus 2010 is the one we should have made originally.
